Welcome Tim Preston & Impact Hockey Development
The Richmond Jets are excited to partner with Impact Hockey Development and announce Tim Preston as the Director of Programming.
This role will be to build, manage and coordinate the development blueprint- align the focus of all developers and coaches, coordinate the on ice instruction, and support our coaches. Given the current climate related to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this will be integral to the Jets on ice development during these uncertain times and it is a proactive approach as conditions changes.

Impact Hockey was founded in 2003 and has grown to become a leader in player development in the Lower Mainland. Impact Hockey has built an implemented countless development platforms for players of all ages and skill levels. IHD is proud of the work they have done not only for individuals and teams but also at the association level. IHD has been the leader for player development for multiple associations and is excited to expand its commitment and involvement with the Richmond jets association.
The on ice development coaches with IHD have a wealth of experience with developing players. The IHD coachesĀ specialize in helping young hockey players achieve the goals.
Tim Preston is the co-founder and lead on ice instructor for Impact Hockey Development. As a highly recognized player development and skating coach, Tim works with a broad base of professional and amateur players. In addition to having trained Olympic gold medalists, Tim has worked with winners of the Maurice Richard Trophy, the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Stanley Cup.
Prior to coaching and starting Impact Hockey, Tim enjoyed a successful hockey career which included five years in the WHL playing for the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Saskatoon Blades. In 1999, he was selected in the third round of the NHL draft by the Buffalo Sabres and eventually finished his playing career within the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. Impact Hockey is excited to get back on the ice with the Richmond Jets association.
