Proof of Residency

All returning players must provide proof of residency.  The primary piece must be your property tax assessment or lease agreement (all pages) and the secondary piece must be a utility bill such as Fortis BC, BC Hydro or the City of Richmond Utility bill. These must be provided before the season starts. They can be uploaded to your TeamSnap player profile, scanned and emailed in a PDF, or hard copies dropped off in the Richmond Jets mailbox at either Minoru Arenas or Richmond Ice Centre. The mailbox is in the main lobby at both rinks.

TIP: Use an app like Genius Scan on your phone to scan your documents. Genius Scan lets you quickly take photos of your documents and turn them into one PDF document that you can upload during your online registration or you can email the registrar after you register.

Multiple Child Policy

  • The third child will trigger a discount of 25%. This will be applied to the youngest player.
  • The fourth child will trigger a discount of 50%. This will be applied to the youngest player.
  • You will be able to select these discounts in your online registration.

Payment Options

We are able to accept payment by credit card and most cards including MasterCard Debit and Visa Debit cards.

If you want to set up a payment plan, you can do that in the online. If paying by cheque and you want a payment plan, we require post-dated cheques for four (4) equal payments. The first instalment of 25% is due on the date of registration, followed by 25% on September 15, 2019, October 15, 2019, and November 15, 2019.

If paying by cash, you must contact the registrar to make arrangements.

Cheques returned for insufficient funds (NSF) or for any other reason will incur a charge of $25.00.

Preseason Camps

  • We are still finalizing all the exact dates for preseason camps.
  • Most preseason camps will be held August 19-23.
  • We will also offer camps August 26-30 (for H2/3/4 – Initiation Major, Novice Minor/Major)
  • The cost per camp for Players is $150.00. The Goalie preseason is $125.00.

Rep Evaluations

If you are registering for Atom or above divisions, you will choose whether to register for evaluations.

Deadline to register for evaluations is August 1st. After this deadline, only with Rep Committee approval and under exceptional circumstances will players be able to register for evaluations.

This would include but not limited to transfers or residential moves

You will also choose whether to try out for A1 or A2/3/4/5.

  • The cost to be evaluated for A1 is $200.00
  • The cost for A2/3/4/5 is $150.00

The A1 Level does not guarantee players will complete phase 1 in its entirety. Players may be released without any refund at any time to the A2/A3/A4/A5 phase if the Rep committee determines a player is out of their depth. This is not a “try and see”.

Evaluations for Atom/Peewee/Bantam A1 will begin as early as Sunday, August 25.

Evaluations for A2/A3/A4/A5 and Midget will begin as early as Monday, August 26.

All Goalies need to be prepared for evaluations as early as Saturday, August 24.

If a player misses evaluations due to injury, there is a distinct process in place to maintain fairness and transparency.

If a player will be absent from evaluations for a non-injury, there is a distinct process in place to maintain fairness and transparency.

Please email the registrar as soon as possible if either applies.

More information to follow including evaluation structure, release phases, Rep expectations, information meetings and Bodychecking Clinics (prep for Bantam Rep).

Expect an update once registration reaches the early bird deadline.

Goalies

Richmond Jets players who are rostered as goalies and who provide all of their own equipment will be eligible to receive a $200.00 rebate after December 1, 2019. In order to receive the rebate, all fees must be paid in full by November 15. There is no requirement to complete a refund form.

Refunds

Players withdrawing from a Richmond Jets MHA program after commencement shall be entitled to a prorated refund of registration fees paid. Short programs such as preseason skills or rep tryouts will not be refunded.

Refunds will be calculated as fees paid, less the number of weeks or portion thereof during which the player was in the program. A 7% administration fee will be assessed in each instance of a refund. Any refund less than $10.00 will not be issued.

Free Equipment Loans

Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association is very proud to offer a free hockey equipment loan program.

Jersey Deposit

The jersey deposit for Initiation Minor – Novice Major (H1-4) will be $50.00.  Atom and above $100.00.  A postdated cheque for May 1, 2020 made out to Richmond Jets MHA will be collected by your team manager.

Volunteer Deposit

In the 2019/2020 season, the Association implemented a volunteer hours policy. Everyone is expected to volunteer for at least five hours over the course of the season. This is over and above what is required at the team level.

Rather than request a postdated cheque this year, we may add on a surcharge the following season if volunteer hour requirements are not being met.
