Richmond Jets Opening Day
Our Goal
On Saturday, September 25th, from 11 am-3 pm we reached our goal and kicked off the season with a bang and were glad to welcome all of our members back.
Our Mission
Our mission is to continue to show that hockey is for everyone and that the Richmond Jets have players from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Hockey provides a cultural bridge to bring our Richmond community together and enjoy Canada’s game.
VIP Guests
Our VIP guests included our MLA for South Richmond Henry Yao, who is a big fan and supporter of the Richmond Jets, as well as Michael Wolfe who is a Richmond City Councillor. We also welcomed Richmond’s own Olympic bronze medalist from the 2020 Japan Olympics, Evan Dunfee. Kids were able to take photos with Evan and his medal.
Games and Food
The hockey kids got to play many games such as The Flip Zone, Pin the Tooth on the Hockey Player, and the Dunk Tank. They also got to enjoy free popcorn, cotton candy, hotdogs, drinks, and won many prizes! The Richmond Sockeyes and their mascot Socko were on hand to help us out as well as some volunteer players. The DJ from Steveston Sound and Stage provided great entertainment for this party.
