Another Amazing Sweep the Streets Event In 2019
Wow, what an AMAZING Turnout!!! Considering that our association was also hosting a 48 team tournament on the ice, we had over 175 people attend this year’s Sweep the Streets community event. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and what a way to give back to a community that has touched us all in so many ways. With an event of this size, there are a lot of people we must thank. A special thanks to the following people for ensuring the continued success of this special community event:
- Our McMath Volunteers Brayden Lingam, Makayla Kusch, Tyler Tran, Nathan Schroeter and Nathan Kusch for setting up everything on that day and organizing the lunch for the hard-working Richmond Jets Families.
- Fresh Slice for the variety of Pizza. Remember to support the No.1 Road and Francis location and Broadmoor as well.
- The City of Richmond, Paul Morizawa, for lending us all the picker-uppers, gloves, garbage bags .…without your yearly commitment this event would not be possible.
- All the local business owners who helped support our Richmond NewsAdvertisement that will be published in the Thursday, October 24th edition (centrefold section).
- And finally to all the kids, parents, family members and friends who value one of the most important reasons why their child is playing hockey is to make them better citizens. We truly do appreciate all your on-going support….and to all the Richmond Jet’s families who attended the various hockey tournaments this weekend, we sure hope your teams had a very enjoyable experience and Great Success!!!
- The$300.00 team prize winner is Gabriel Wang, so the Atom C1 team will get $300 deposited into their team account
- The 3 Team prizes have been awarded to the 3 top teams who brought out the most people to this year’s event:
Our Prize Winners
- 1st Prize….(A Vancouver Canuck’s Surprise)….for Sean O’Neil’s Peewee C2 Team, who had almost 40 people attend
- 2nd Prize (A Richmond Sockeye’s Package)…. for Jim Sutherland’s Peewee A5 Team

Thanks, everyone and until next year, let’s remember to keep getting involved in our GREAT community and please look for the many ways of volunteering within our association. This is what truly makes us deliver on GREAT HOCKEY and GREAT COMMUNITY!!!
