Vancouver Canucks First Shift
What Is First Shift?
The NHL/NHLPA FIRST SHIFT program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. We want families to experience the game at its best — to understand why so many Canadians feel an inherent love for the sport, and to stimulate a desire for continued participation. We want to take away any intimidation as it relates to equipment requirements, and/or rules of the game, remove potential safety concerns, and most importantly, provide an experience that is memorable and fun.
We need volunteers to run this program
The Vancouver Canucks First Shift program is looking for adult coaches and player volunteers (U18 and Up). Anyone interested should fill out our volunteer form. If there is enough interest from volunteers, the final selection will be made by lottery or volunteer's availability.
Player volunteers will receive volunteer hour credits for high school graduation.
The First Shift program consists of six on-ice sessions that volunteers are required to attend to the majority of the six sessions. The ice schedule is yet to be determined, but we will work with the players who have volunteered to make these times work.

Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association
As one of the largest minor hockey associations in British Columbia, the Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association offers an integrated (boys and girls) minor hockey program from Initiation to Juvenile. Featuring both recreational ("C") and competitive ("A") streams, our programs operate out of the three different facilities in the City of Richmond: Richmond Ice Centre (RIC), Minoru Arenas (Stadium and Silver Rinks), Richmond Oval (North and South rinks).
We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.
