Paid Skills Helpers

We are excited to announce that our Skills Helper program is being revamped and will now be supervised directly by our Director of Hockey Operations, Linden Saip. We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team and assist with executing the skills program under his supervision. As a Skills Helper, you will work alongside our Skill Providers during their sessions to help players improve their skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Skill Providers during their sessions with executing the skills program.
  • Engage with the players and help them with their skills program.
  • Work hands-on with the players, as you cannot passively watch.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants and communicate any concerns to the Skill Providers.
  • Maintain a positive and fun atmosphere for all participants.

Requirements:

  • Must be U18 or older.
  • Respect In Sports For Activity Leaders (online course)
  • If you are 17 and turning 18 in the calendar year, you require a criminal record check and a vulnerable person check.
  • To be eligible for a Skill Helper Position, you will need to either be on a current roster of a Hockey Canada sanctioned team as a player or a coach or be an  Associate Member of BC Hockey
  • Must have a passion for working with young kids and the ability to engage and interact with them.
  • Prior experience in coaching, teaching or working with children is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • This is a paid position, and pay will vary with experience.
