Children, Youth, and Young Adults Benefit from Opportunities to Participate in Community Sport

We encourage Richmond Jets families who require financial assistance to apply with one or more of these organizations.

If exceptional circumstances apply, and you are unable to apply for assistance or otherwise need help, please contact our president.

Jumpstart

The Canadian Tire Jumpstart™ Program provides financial assistance for the purchase of equipment and/or registration fees.

Criteria for Jumpstart™ assistance includes the following:

  • The child must be between the ages of 4 and 18.
  • Funding must be for a program involving sport or physical activity.
  • Your family must be in financial need as defined by Government guidelines.

Kidsport

KidSport™ Richmond provides grants up to $600 per calendar year per child for children from financially challenged families in Richmond. KidSport™ grants are applied directly to registration fees.

KidSport™ grants are available for children up to 18 years who are in financial need to pay registration fees for the sport of their choice.

Athletics 4 Kids

In order to be eligible for financial assistance from Athletics for Kids (A4K), applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • The family is receiving social assistance.
  • The family net income is equal to or less than $42,000 per year.
  • The applicant is receiving social assistance.
  • The applicant is in a foster care program.

Hockey Canada Assist Fund

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund provides more than 1,700 kids with registration fee funding each season. They offer up to $500 per player towards their registration fees.

Formerly Lace Them Up foundation, and now a part of Hockey Canada.

Chris Cayford Player Assistance Fund

The Chris Cayford Player Assistance Fund helps Richmond Jets families in need of financial assistance with registration fees, team fees or equipment costs.

Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association

As one of the largest minor hockey associations in British Columbia, the Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association offers an integrated (boys and girls) minor hockey program from Initiation to Juvenile. Featuring both recreational ("C") and competitive ("A") streams, our programs operate out of the three different facilities in the City of Richmond: Richmond Ice Centre (RIC), Minoru Arenas (Stadium and Silver Rinks), Richmond Oval (North and South rinks).
